Part of my childhood has been ripped out of me.

It all happened last night and I didn't even know about it. My gosh, when I saw Tom on a commercial saying that Tonami was canceled after 11 long years, that really hit me. It's like something faded in my body. Died even more... A generation passing away mostly.

So as of last night, Saturday October 4, 2008, part of my childhood has been destroyed, And I wasn't even aware of it last night! I was just on Gaiaonline lurking and trying to find a thread to post in on the forums. I thought it was a little too quiet...

When I was young, I watched Tonami all the time. I even remember my first anime crush was Heero Yuei(sp?) from Gundam Wing. When I saw him in an episode one time, I immediately thought with big eyes looking up at my television screen, "He is so cool!" I even remember watching DBZ. What an EPIC show it was and STILL IS! Tenchi Muyo! Sure, I didn't watch all of the episodes, but my favorite episode was when Tenchi gave carrots to all of the cabbits who wouldn't leave his storage room. That was so funny. xD And oh my gosh... Sailor Moon. I can probably say this is the first Japanese anime that I have watched. I don't remember most of the plot at all, but it was AMAZING when I was little. But I do know A LOT of things that were left out of it now though... ;>_> There was also shows like Outlaw Star, Reboot, Ronin Warriors, Voltron, Rorouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Thunder Cats. I was never really into Japanese anime when I was little, but I do remember all of those shows and was into a few of them. :<

So that's it I guess. A generation passed. The last show Tonami aired was Naruto. The episode was a filler episode, but Naruto is still EPIC none the less! >_< I also thought it was strange when they didn't show the Tonami commercials every time Naruto went on break. I thought the new golden font letter commercials were the new Tonami commercials. I was dead and horribly wrong.

So so long Tonami. Rest in peace. You were great. Too great. EPIC. If only the kids of my generation grew up with you. Then they would understand as well. Goodbye Tom. Goodbye Tonami. This girl will never forget you.
